I am curious with the latest trend of paid blogging. Of those who do get paid. How many of them are have a disclosure policy on their blog, somewhere atleast implied or linked to saying they are getting paid. I am beginning to put a disclosure policy on a few of my blogs that I do get paid for on occasion. I have found a nice disclosure policy generator. And was able to put it up, all I had to do was copy and paste and put a disclosure policy badge up. But back to the main discussion, which is how many(paid bloggers) have a disclosure policy? Are you against them or for them?
Absolutely in favour of them. All of my sponsored posts begin with the line: "This is a sponsored post. To read more about our policy on sponsored posts click here". The link leads them to a paragraph explaining I do accept posts but only if I can agree with them. I would never accept a post if I objected to the subject - to do so is disingenuous to my readers. Without readers I aint got a blog. Editted to add: I'd never use that disclosure generator because that is a sneaky underhand advert in its own right!
Disclosure for sponsored posts is a MUST. A lot of bloggers and readers frown on non-disclosure so unless you want to lose all credibility, a link to a disclosure policy is very crucial. Try writing your own!
Yeah, totally agree. Better to be open and disclose that a post has been paid for. Its about keeping your readership onside.
