First time posting here, I've been reading a lot lately and was just curious, how many people here use paid advertising, such as paid search engine advertisement etc... for their website.

    ...but seriously...

It doesn't do much good to make a site and not advertise at least some, unless it's just a hobby or something to benefit only a small group of people you can tell in person or such.

I use pay advertisement, if your website is new, and you want to increase sale , then you have to use paid advertisment,

For my sites (see sig) I use GoClick.com and Brainfox.com, but not too thrilled about them though..

It really depends on the purpose of your site. If you're not selling something, there's not a lot of point in 'buying traffic'.

There's a lot of sites that don't revolve around 'making a sale' (mine included), so I made Freevertiser.com which is like AdWords crossed with a banner exchange.

That's not really true B, if you have a high enough CTR/CPM at adsense you can have a nice ROI at $0,01 a click :)

I currently pay for advertising...but beware because you can gain/lose a lot of money if you make a mistake or aren't watchful on your campaigns.

Thats why you should put minium money on a new advertisement just to try it out. You shouldn't just spend $1000 on a new campaign without first doing little bit of research and testing out the campaign.
