Pagination Sensation!

Alright, sorry about the stupid title.

Quick question: I have a links page with about 12 sub categories on it, which are all links pages unto themselves. As I do link exchanges (and I'm only doing them within my genre), I've paginated each of the individual 12 pages so that no more than 20 links appear on each page.

So for the 21st link you might see something like: /links-baby-gear.php?pageno=2

The reason I did this is because I didn't want to devalue the worth of the any given page by flooding it with links. My question then, is: Do the search engines see these as individual pages, and therefore count the number of links on each of them... or do they total up all the links on all of the paginated pages and use that number when determining the value of that page?

Sorry if that's a little confusing.
