Okay, yesterday I was thinking about my website. I streamlined the content so a lot could be found just on the homepage. I then realised this cut back on my pages per visit and thus general page impressions. Should I be looking to make people go through as many pages as possible so to speak to increase impressions?
You need to start with good, engaging content and then have a related posts list at the end of each article. Don't post all of your content in one big scrolling list on your home page. Use a magazine style with great images on the home page. Link to your related content within the articles as well. Split up your content and have it continue over multiple pages. Make your content Part 1, 2, 3 etc.
One thing that I highly recommend - is that you put links at the bottom of articles to other related articles. If your using wordpress, there are some "related post" plug-ins that you can use to do this same thing. Instead of using a plug-in, I will code in the related post myself. It takes a few minutes, but that way I know viewers are really going to post related to that topic.
