i have a similar problem, but i have 3 pages indexed! the 3 pages are all linked to from outside sources, but the rest of the site gets ignored (even though slurp hits me almost every day, sometimes for hours). my domain is almost 2 months old so i attributed it to that, but if you guys have sites that have been around for years, well i guess that's a big concern!

    let's hope web-rover gets some answers :)

My site has been up now at least 5 months. Google has indexed around 9000 pages. Has a PR of 4.

90% links are going to the front page, the rest are going 3 or so levels deep to different pages. And those pages are NOT shown as indexed in Y!, just the front page.

I sent an email to Yahoo and presented this problem. I'm sure they're reading my email and taking imediate action.

On one site I've got about 30K in Google, 8K in MSN and only about 1-2K in Yahoo. I think they are indeed much slower in indexing, and also may have a much greater dislike for variables in URLs, deep links, pages more than 1 or 2 clicks from the homepage, etc... than the other engines....

    Site #1:
    550000 in google
    3045 in msn
    61700 in yahoo

    Site #2:
    32000 in google
    2085 in msn
    223000 in yahoo

Both sites had less than 100 pages indexed in yahoo until i managed to get a backlink to each site two clicks away from the root of dmoz.org.

My site is still only 1 page indexed in Y!, and I know Y! has been there recently as it has pulled a fresh version of the index page (that is only 5 days old or so). Still no deep crawl. Yes I do have links pointng to other pages apart from the index page.

I have a site that's been up less than a month.

    0 pages in Google
    946 pages in Yahoo
    29 pages in MSN

Zero outbound links and only a few inbound links.

I don't know if this made a difference with Yahoo, but I submitted the site a few days before it was spidered using their free submission page that requires you to sign up for a free Yahoo e-mail account.

This is exactly what happens to me. Only pages with links to them.

WTH is up with yahoo's total lack to spider?

What's really bizarre is SLURP is sucking up my site with its nasty tongue! :p

I'm the opposite, I've 5,500 pages indexed with Google, but 10,800 indexed with Yahoo. 10,800? I didn't think I had that many pages on the site.

I posted each forum and link on my blog and then yahoo indexed them after I pinged the blog.

Whatever I put on the blog gets indexed within a day or so.

The slurps are also always on my site but just suck BW and index squat unless I have it on the blog.

    I think I'll put a sitemap on the blog......LOL

imo yahoo! takes a very long time to get indexed... took my site over a year to get just 10 pages but now I've got 475,000, just keep waiting :)

I've noticed many new sites, showing up with all the pages in Yahoo index, while a 4 year old website (both websites, featuring about the same level of promotion/IBL's, let's say) has a few pages indexed.

It's not about age, when we speak of number of pages indexed in Yahoo. It;s something else.

I noticed yesterday my indexed pages droped form 20K to 2.5K and this morning they went up to 7.5K and now back to 3K... weird.

[to Mod: this message was posted in Yahoo Update thread - sorry for duplicate]

Interesting. My forum (seo urls end in .html) has 5k pages in google and msn, and only 200 in yahoo :(

Funny thing is yahoo crawls the site thousands of times a month and gives me all my traffic lol
