Pages indexed

I have a site that has been around since the start of the year.

Google and MSN have indexed about 9,000 pages, but Yahoo is just showing 1 page indexed (the main page).

Is it normal for this to happen in Y!? Always this slow?

They (Yahoo) are showing about 25k links to this site though when doing the linkdomain command (thanks to the coop).

    Any suggestions?

I'm in a similar position - I have 4 sites and google has indexed about 100% of all the pages, msn has indexed around 90% so far (6000 pages) and yahoo has a grand total of 6 pages indexed between all 4 sites.

    you mean outbound links?

I have plenty of them if that is what you mean. Still much much much less than inbound links. :)

My combination of sites that only have 6 pages indexed by yahoo have around 20 000 incoming links between them so I don't think that's it. I see the bot in my stats but it just never gets round to doing a deep crawl.

We are having the same problem with one of our sites. We have 100k or so backlinks and 1 indexed page and the only reason we have that is because of the directory.

So any ideas as how to get the yahoo spider off its lazy ass and browse my lovely site some what?

Google is in the 9k pages indexed mark running a very short marathon around my site, but yahoo is still on the darn couch looking at my lovely front-page.

Perhaps they could turn that around. Don't waste our time spidering you, we didn't find any interesting content and thus you are not indexed.

I'll pay for the gig or two of BW for promotion myself cheerfully.

    Just a thought.

I really don't get. Can't be a code or seo problem because google and msn have no problem.

I have exactly the same on a couple of mysites - lots of visits from slurp but no added pages in Yahoo.
Oh well, they'll get around to adding them at somepoint.
In no cases have I got more pages indexed in msn or Yahoo than I have in G - even though msn and yahoo often visit more pages and use more bandwidth than Gbot does.

Yahoo is very problematic at this.

I have about ... let's say 100 webmaster friends, here in Romania.. All of them have mostly very large PR5-6 websites (from 50.000 to 100.000 pages), and only ONE of them has more than 5000 pages in Yahoo :)

    That's a pretty thing right ?

Some of them are online since 1997 :)

I've just gone to Y! and signed in so that I could submit my site the manual way.

I know this shouldn't be required to get my site properly indexed in Y! but since I've got thousands of backlinks already to my site, and still only have 1 page indexed in Y! I don't know what else to do.

I am running out of ideas.

    Any more ideas?
