I wanted to know if despite the url of the page submitted to sites like digg or propeller has a rel="nofollow" tag, helps getting the actual page indexed faster in google?. Is this true?
The more backlinks your site has the faster it will get indexed. So the answer to your question is yes, and many other different types of sites. Aim for sites related to your content.
Very true. I recently created a brand spanking new site, and it got indexed in less than a week in google, and about 3 weeks for yahoo, and unfortuneatly I am still waiting for MSN to index it. They are behind! I submit to digg, reddit, stumbleupon, furl, and propeller. The more the better!
So it actually doesn't matter if the url has a nofollow attribute, google will detect it and index it right?. But of course, it won't help getting better search results.
I agree. Social bookmarking sites helps for faster indexing. I have tried this and my blog got indexed quickly after submitting.
I get posts indexed in hours by submitting to the SB sites. The no follow is a misnomer, it doesn't really mean that the robots aren't going to follow it, it simply keeps from bleeding page rank. Gregg
what i do is.. everytime i post to new article to my blog.. i submit a summary to bookmarking site and then ping .. its very effective..
Nope, if a backlink has nofollow tag it will not follow that hyperlink. Basicly links with nofollow will only produce traffic from that site, no pagerank, no serp, no backlink.
Well, I guess this thread is solved. And everyone agrees I've always used SMS but I never thought that they were actually helping my site get indexed. Thanks a lot !!! specially Gregg.
