I haven't seen this before, ( or at least didn't notice ) but I am looking at a domain listed for sale and it has some pages indexed by google but is not in the google cache, so what does that mean exactly? Why would it have pages indexed but not be in the cache Sorry if its a dumb question but as I said never seen it before. Cheers, Jas.
Maybe it just because of the long time content updating in that domain. Site existent so long makes it indexed, but long time no fresh leads to no cache...
You guess that the domain is not indexed when the OP tells you that it is indexed??? Comment of the day.
I have a similar blog not updated for about 4-5 months and still in index but no cache. No fresh updates = No cache.
Happens alot, i guess the cache and SERP processes are two different things. If a domain is 404 when Google takes a cache snapshot it will drop the cache, however they obviously havn't rolled this data over in to the SERP placement. Makes sense really, if your site is temporarily 404 when Google takes it's cache, instead of wiping your SERP's off the face of the earth it will slowly knock them down over time in case the site returns.
When you are not updating your site for a long period then it might be moved from the cache server so just update some content on your site and you will be fine.
