Pages in URL

    My site went from 4200 pages to 330 in the backlink tool. What could have caused this? (beside fewer pages :) )

    The tool is nothing more than a reporting mechanism. It only reports what Google tells it, so your question really should go to Google directly for a definitive answer.

    I wasn't blaming the tracker. I'm just wondering if this is something anyone may have seen before or if anyone knows what could be causing it.

    I figured I'd have a better chance of getting a reply here than from google.

    btw, my backlinks have been bouncing up and down lately more than usual which was adding to my curiosity about what is happening at google. I don't have many but it has been as high as 62 and as low as 16 just this week. At Yahoo I have over 700.

    One other observation; when I check with a trailing "/" on the URL I see the 4200.

    Backlink and pages in URL are going crazy today in the tracker. Within seconds a URL's numbers, including PR, are moving dramatically.
