I have a site that is a PR 6 with about 1000 PR 5 interior pages.

At the start of the month Google dropped the indexed pages from 10000 to 2000.

Anyone else notice something like this?

Is it the same number of pages cached on all of the datacentres, sometimes pages get dropped only to get cached again a few weeks later.

Yup. I saw an established sites from #1 then suddenly lose its SERP rankings.

So...should I expect them to come back in a higher position?

What typically happens when they get de-indexed?

Yes, should be within one month at most all being well

They are no longer cached by the search engines.

alright, I will update this thread when I see something.

It is scary when Google has control over a persons income now. I am learning to spread my eggs around and not in one basket.

That's my number 1 marketing tip, keep everything diverse. I've heard from too many companies that are shattered when Google updates and they fall from the top positions.
