I wrote an article about a month ago and I rewrote the same article. The rewritten article is still at the same URL. The problem I am having is that Google is not caching the new updated content during its crawls. Should I just rename the link? What I did was copy a description from my Ebay listings and I rewrote it and then. added to it to avoid duplication punishment. Thanks.
Google will get around to updating the database. Don't worry too much right now. If after a couple months they still haven't updated the page, then send them an email asking them to re-spider your site and include the changes the next time they update the database.
send them an email? hmmm, I'm sure they wouldn't reply and which address would you send it to?..... If you get deep links pointing to the page then it should get spidered an updated pretty soon.... Is the page in the supplemental index?
if you want to speed the indexing time, you need more backlinks. more backlinks will help you to get more googlebot visit and more indexed pages
Google doesnt update the cache every time it crawls a page. If its taking ages your site doesnt have much weight. Link to this page from the homepage and get strong backlinks to it, that will help it out.
Google will crawl and index your page whenever it feels like it, not based on how many backlinks you have coming to your site, trichnosis. Incoming links also have nothing to do with getting the spider to visit your site and indexing your pages. The former again is the exclusive domain of whenever Google feels like it, and the latter has more to do with proper Web site development than anything.
Hi,I experience the same behaviour: I see that the google bot is crawling my website, but the content is not updated. Also in webmasters/tools/ I see that there is some activity. However, the content that google indexed is still the old one. The google bot crawls every day I think my website.I've seen an option in webmasters/tools/ to ask google to fetch a page, and then ask them to index it. But it's limited to 500 trials... if Iunderstood correctly.I haven't started promoting my website, but what I found strange is that the website is being crawled regularly, but not indexed. Did anybody else experience such situation? Shall I use the webmasters/tools/ to fetch a few updated pages and then check the result?Thank you,Jimmy
best way to get the newly updated pages cralled is to use webmaster tool ->Diagnostics -> Fetch as google boot Once the page you want is fetched then click on submit to index beside the fetched link. You have an option to include urls in the page as well. use it. you get 10 url+ linked page submissions per month and 500 url submissions per month In the next crawl google will read your new content. but the indexing will generally depend on google. One of my website is indexed on the fly and another on a weekly basis.
