It's somewhat of an apples and oranges question. I'd rather have SERPs positioning on my sites for Adsense. And I'd rather have high PR on sites that I'm flipping. Both help depending on what you're trying to accomplish and to be honest, I'd rather have both. Now, my question back to you is: would you rather have SERPs position or high PR on sites that link to you?
In terms of a business related website........ It would be common sense to say 5 good quality visitors per day converting into 3 sales is better than 1000 visitors converting into 1 sale Therefore keyword research is the key to delivering good targeted traffic People with low PR state SERPS are important, the funny thing is when you check their sites and their targeted keywords you are lucky if you see these sites in the index
There's not a shadow of doubt that PR helps with high positioning in SERPs. Im not for a minute saying that PR is the only factor of high SERP results, because we all know that's not true. What I am saying is that there is no chance of any site getting position 1 for a term like 'Internet Marketing' or 'SEO' with a poor PageRank. In my opinion, PR and SERPs cannot be compared as they are not exclusive.
Shor you are right, this is because link building is part of the process of building strength to a website, do a search for the terms, seo, search engine optimisation, search engine optimization, internet marketing etc etc and find a site with a low PR on the first pages. Like I said earlier the people who say PR is worthless are the ones that do not rank highly in competitive sectors.
Page rank is just something google came up for linking calulation, what makes you money is being on page 1. Who cares what the pr is.
to be honest PR for me means really nothing. In past years I build many sites and scenario in many cases is: start with high PR (PR3 some sites even PR4) because I am using SEO tactic that is good for me, so all new sites are on apropriate way linked and in first google PR update they get pr3 or pr4 sometime pr2 depending on niche, and have 'some' traffic, after that I am starting with agressive link building, giving spreading PR from pages that got PR in update to some new ones that I want to be reputable for specified keyword, niche etc, and then in every few months PR stays same or droping down but traffic increasing. For example site that is after 3 months from creating and initail link building receive 600-700 unique monthly, but after 6 months and 2 PR updates fell down to PR1 or even PR0 but receives from that 'same' google 15.000 unique visits monthly. So I will always choose traffic as we know all here, quality traffic makes money...
Traffic of course. If you have traffic you can monetize easily, and probably the community will be doing the page ranking and spread the word out virally.
NO Pr is not helping crawl backlinks do it..what is the question i really have in my mind ? 100000 pr 0 or 100 pr3 Or a mix of them
I do not worry about PR. PR only worth if you are going to sell links on your site. I have few sites which has PR 0 and gets good amount of traffic.
Pagerank has very little to do with your position in the SERPs. I was riding pretty high on the SERPs for one of my sites with a PR of N/A when it was a brand new site. Then I was in position #3 for my main KW with PR of 0 until the update on the 1st.
I feel .. both of them counts.. Ranking in SERP helps you get tangible benefits like increased visibility of the iste, better traffic and turnover. On the other hand, decent PR means that you are in good books of search engine which will eventually reflect your rankings in SERP
