    That's because PR and traffic are not related. It's a good feeling to have a decent PR, but the real thing is traffic. Concentrate on rankings, and traffic will improve eventually.

    Obviously the goal is traffic, but everything I've read says PR boosts you higher in the search result list which means more traffic. It's like free PPC ads?

    I can agree with pipes as I've noticed the same thing with a couple of my websites......however, one that I do nothing at all with continues to rise with each update.....so something is a little strange!

    Bmatthews, I would advise that you consider unique article submissions to article directories. I did less than 10 article directory submissions for my 20 day old site with only 16 articles on the site and I got a PR 2.

    High quality links are essential. Also consider link directories.

    You cannot say that if your site have backlinks it should have PR also and vice versa.PR also depends on other factors. May be you have site having no baclinks and even 2-3 PR.

    Hey i had my PR jump to 5 with not even a $ spent for my dir jump. the funny thing is that the website i have spent some bugs and expected good results, got only PR2.
    About the backlinks, upto 750 is fine. in my experience more than that is not helping cause one of my websites with 72000 back links(including 2 back links on PR7 and 3 on PR6 and so on) got only PR4. i

    think now i know the secrets to HIGH PR
