Happy New Year to everyone, my pr has not changed in over 1 year.

 

I have seen the PR to go down from 3 to 2 for one of my sites while others remained static, as I was expecting a jump. Not to be obsessed too much with PR

Look at it like this

"2008 ended with bad news for you"

You can still make a fresh start in 2009.

 

eCPM has nothing to do with PR It must be a good niche

 

I got PR only new sites, but old sites are same PR.

I know that we have had a new rank update but this is crazy, I have a diabetes website that I have done very little work to and it now has a PR5, what is that all about?

Everything about it is just not worh a 5 yet, very few back links, not active, no new content is added so what the hell is Google thinking? lol

 

Might be a mistake. I've seen things like this happen before and within a few days or a week, the PR is updated again for sites that had crazy updates initially.

 

Woah, there's only two reasons for this -

1) Google's still updating and you can expect things to be wobbly, till it finally settles. So, you can expect drastic changes more or less.

2) Your are VERY lucky and Google loves you

I hope it's reason 2 for your sake!
PR5 is considered "extremely valuable" here @ DP

I think google is trying to confuse us by giving out high pr to sites that do not deserve it,
it might be the new trend in seo

He probably did all the hard work, building this site and then, probably for want of raising quick money, he sold it off....only to have this update coming up little later, making his original site a PR5 !!!

Woah that never hit me
Point to remember - never sell sites during PR update!

 

My PR went up to PR3.. It was PR6 at one point, before they made the major change that lowered everyone by a couple ranks. Then I got sent to Google Purgatory for selling text link ads, and ended up with a PR0 for most of the year. I removed the ads and told Google and got PR2. Now it's PR3, and I am hoping to get back to a 4 next update.

I know the ranks reflect as of today, but I'm pretty sure this took effect a week ago, because my incoming google traffic shot up suddenly just before xmas (and not for xmas terms)

Forget about the forum dude, Get on with a wordpress based site with constantly updated content, i think your Domain has great potential. Just my honest opinion.

 

If it's dofollow with good relevancy to the point site; you should some good link juice
