Heya there. One of my Blogs jumped from 0 to 3 due to the Pagerank Update. But by this time , my Blog got heavily dropped down in the searches. Normally i was getting around 400-500 Searches a day thru google, now iam getting about 10. My Site is still listened but it seems to be vanished for nearly all of my keywords. So whats the solution? Wait for Google to finish their Overall Update ? Setup a new domain name to get the Visitors from SERPs back ?
My SERPs have also dropped during update time but they came back higher after a couple of weeks. I's just sit tight and continue posting and building backlinks.
Exactly. The PR represents the strength of your web pages with regards to its popularity (incoming links) while traffic is a a result of a huge factors mix (where popularity is one factor).
Well even if its true, its weird that it happened to the same moment as the PR Update went Live. Actually Google tells me that i dont have any problems with this site , regarding to webmaster tools. But iam getting nearly no hits from SERPs.
Desanta it's not wered is aother exemple that PR is worthless maybe with such many exemple some morons will understand this ....
So whats the solution ? The Website is currently hosted on a sub domain, can i get the stuff back into SERPS listing with changing the urls and subdomain adress ?
It still amazes me that even with so many threads and topics about PR people still think its the be all and end all, focus your time on SERPS`s and see results.
It is happening with me also ... I have taken wait and watch strategy for next 90 days before taking any step!!! Till then keep adding links and unique content to the site!!
I would say you wait, sometimes serps drop and come back to their position ..get quality backlinks and hopefully you will get your serps back.
Please search Google for 'Matt Cutts Pagerank' PageRank does - according to Matt - have some form of impact on SERPs.
Have you ever checked your competitors sites?Maybe they got a better pr too, and get a better SEPs than your site.
Without knowing the cause, there is no solution, only guessing. Be patient for at least 30 days. During that time, work on content and cleaning up any areas that you feel you mayhave over-optimized. If a that time it hasn't improved, post again here. /*tom*/
I think this is a classic exmaple of why SERPs are more important that PR. It could be a temporary glitch as this update is still taking place - so for now, I would sit tight and wait a week or so. If traffic continues to drop, try and start getting some more relavant backlinks to your site, as well as add some new content.
Today, my PR also jumped. My site is 3 months old and had a PR0 before. Today it jumped to PR4. However looking at my visitors... I usually average 30 -40 uniques a day. Today, I have had 0 visitors.
