Pagerank Transfer

    I'm trying to calculate how much the number of links on a page affect the PR juice passed on.

    So for example

    A = PR4 0 outbound
    B = PR4 5 outbound
    C = PR4 10 outbound

    If you create a brand new site (Y), and are linked by any of these, how much PR does your new site get?

    A>Y = PR4
    B>Y = PR?
    C>Y = PR?

    Do you guys have any data (I know the more outbound, the less PR but I'm looking for specific numbers that you experienced)?

    Also, internal links. Do they take away as much PR as outbound links?

    I dont think anyone knows the exact figures. More importantly google does not recommend linking your own site one another.

    If they are related why not? I'm know people have done it. I've done - Link from PR4 w/ 8 outbound > PR3 on a new site

    People do that of course I did myself too. That does not mean it is a very good practice. Google does not recommend cross linking form one another especially for the sake of Page Rank and backlinks.

    Google doesnt link it when you link your site A (apple tree growing) to your site B (stereo system reviews). But your site C (cell phone reviews) to your site D (cell phone provider reviews) is completely fine.

    The amount of "link juice" a page has to give is spread evenly among all the links on that page.

    I also think it is not good idea interlinking your sites...especially if they both are registered in G. webmaster tools.
    I linked 2 of my pages, but using nofollow on the links as these are truly to ease the visitors of a particular event, for which the information is divided on both sites - 2 countries.

    So one PR4 w/ 2 links = 2 PR2? idk. I think that makes either 2 pr3s or 2 pr4s

    You've done this before?
    So your saying if you create 10 sites and link to them from 1 PR4, you'll have 10 PR3?

    Forget trying to work it out, all PR4s are not the same. For example a page thats only just a 4 may only pass a 2 and a strong 4 may pass a 4. So the data you come up with will be useless.

    So until Google release more resolution to Pagerank such as PR4.6 you cant work it out with any accuracy.

    I agree with sweetfunny pr is assumed to be logaritmic and all pr 4 are not the same.

    It should theoretically be the same according to the google pagerank algorithm.
