http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=6a1d6250e26e9e48&hl=en This might actually be the start point of putting an end to the PR madness and the directory business. Although they haven't removed it from the toolbar yet(only from Webmater Tools), it doesn't seem to be long before they do that. What do you think? Will the webmaster world be a better world without page rank?
Sorry about that, I seldom check WMT and so far I didn't notice the missing PR. And I did check a few pages back before posting here on DP, just didn't imagine it could have been this long since they removed it.
Of course they will not delete it entirely, or maybe this could be one step from the book where it's predicted that Internet will die until 2020. If this happen, a lot of webmasters will "die" too, those who invested a lot in that PR sience. Then, those up there will make something new, so internet is not so interesting..
Yes i dont think they will delete it, as even if we know and many people deny of PR not so important or amusing.... people do have a craze for it too.... Just look at this thread itself of Google. Today most of the new thread started are just about PR update or what is PR or whatz the importance.... I hoped I would have got some sharing comments on other topics of google.... but alias today I guess I will be sleeping without any interesting topics to comment
Webmasters will "die" because PR is gone is rediculous. Those who wasted their time with PR will no longer be wasting their time and can then focus on what's important...quality content...and this will make the "internet interesting".
I think this is been said by Google before about not only concentrating on PR or even think much about it. Still people are selling or exchanging links and this is why they have taken this step but they even are not taking back the concept of PR and its importance...
As much as I despise PR, I'll miss it when it's gone. As a searcher, it is the first thing I look at when I hit a new website. If it is a PR 7 or higher, I normally trust the site immediately although I remain cautious until I get to know it. If the site is PR 0 or gray, I usually move on without giving it much of a chance. That's not always the best decision, but that is the habit that PR has created for me.
haha thats the funniest thing i have read today page rank can be a nice thing but it got so over rated and ruined by the masses only worrying about page rank and forgot about the mission
