Hi guys I've came over from Acorn Domains forum because Digitap Point seems more website based rather than domain name focused.

I have a few minisites I've been working on since April. I started one in particular but later adbandoned it and left it unfinished. I checked it yesterday and it now has a pagerank of 2 and I can't understand how.

It was one of my early attempts and

    a. It has no original content
    b. it has no inbound links

It has 9 pages and an html site map with alot of internal links. Could it be the internal links boosting it's PR?

The other sites I've harder on only have a PR1, so I'm keen to understand why this site has a PR2 and apply it to my other sites.

Normally you can only get Pagerank if there are inbound links to your website, if there really are no links whatsoever to your site, it's just a fake Pagerank, a screw up by Google.

Can you give the URL so we can double check?

PR=Backlinks. As you are saying that your site has no backlinks, so it may be Google has given PR2 temporary, when your site again counted in PR updates it will be removed by Google.

All DP members can give you right answer if you provide URL of your site. Also try yo specify domain age. It may be one of the factor.

It seems that it does have one backlink, from http://www.netc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

That page has no PR, but 7 backlinks itself from PR1-5. So IMO the netc.... page should have PR, its only not visible and because that page is linking to your visittyneside website, that has PR.

So this shows once again that PR is pretty useless without looking at the bigger picture, Google just doesn't show correct PR all the time.

Well, this is not the first time parked, ignored domains have got a pagerank. Just goes to show that google pagerank algorithm is still buggy. :)
