PageRank or PointLessRank

After latest update various weired and unacceptable high pr have been reported but my dp profile
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?u=19444
has now PR4.
It's really amazing because no backlink is reported from Google+Yahoo+MSN for this page.

So its pagerank or pointless rank ??

I mean PR or PLR

Your profile showing zero here. I've decided to try to ignore PR as best I can for now and concentrate on what's important - adding fresh, daily content to my sites and promoting it as best I can. Figure the rest will eventually take care of itself.

Profile page shows PR zero here too. Anyway it appears that the pagerank goes in the direction of being pointless at all. And honestly I'd appreciate such a move.

umm, you have been around for a month and have 500 post, that is what I am looking at.

 

I don't know what going on.Theres far too many threads to read about it and as I have a bad head cold I'm not up to it.
One of my sites had all of its pages at PR3.
Now half of them are PR0,some stayed at PR3 but the newer ones less than 1 month old went to PR5!

If this theory is true then website (in my sig) is one and half month old then why its still pr0 :?

 

I have a wordpress blog, that has no content accept the intro post, no backlinks, never been submitted, yet it just got a pr4 on latest update?

Pointless Rank if you ask me

 

I wonder why does everione pay so much attention on pagerank. You get it even if you know nothing about it. If a website provides useful information and it is visited by many then it will get at least 5 within 6 month period.

I understand that having PR 7 or more is great bu I've seen many Pr 4 or 5 websites ranked top because they are good enough.

 

I think pagerank has become pointless. Focus on getting lots of traffic. That is where success lies.

 

Just a reminder, the Google Tool Bar PageRank is a bit lame, but PageRank
is still how Google sorts their search results and Google still has the most
relevant search results even if YOUR page is not ranked well.

Does anyone think that this is related to since when google sitemaps was brought out? Are they using sitemaps now instead of whatever was being done before, or its being given less significance?
