I recently ran up a report on Google referrals vs. PR on 37 of my sites... up to the minute stats. Very interesting results.
Yep - PR makes you feel good but the hits from Google search are what pays the bills. Good post and excellent visual aid. I have a couple PR2 blogs that get tons more search hits than my PR5's.
The PR should be associated with the links that made it. If those links are relevant to the text in the page in question then PR is very important. If not, then the PR is useless for the serps.
not sure if that proves anything... my pr10 site about pink cockroaches gets no google traffic...... joking but yeah well if you dont use pr wisely then what good is it.... my site ( just 1 ) is only pr3 yet my google referrals for that same time frame is almost 80k, so about 10x all those 37 combined
Although most argument would say that it's useless but somehow based on my crude observation it still has some relations to serp. Not sure how to explain here but it's basically it's from my own experience.
i agree with u pr not relate with traffic or rank but its help - i have experience, if u have doubt check my signature.
page rank mens quality and search engine traffic means quantity of SEO score.this quantity make GOOgle show result to the search result and this actually what bring traffic and Page rank I think only good to suport "link back"
Having PR does not automatically assign "x" number of Google referrals. As stated by edual200, having a PR-10 site about pink cockroaches won't get you traffic from Google if nobody is searching for information on pink cockroaches will it! Pagerank does mean something. Understanding what it means is the tricky bit. Cheers James
its easy to get a PR0 site listed above a PR3 site for an identical keyterm, IF the PR3 site is doing a lot of other things wrong. If they're doing the same things you are, you'll struggle. So, in that respect, PR does matter, but as everyone else says, not to the degree that its marketed. B~UT BUT, i'm very confused as to why a site with 23,000 visitors only gets 2 or 3% google referrals. Thats bad.. why is that? its the same for some of your other sites too.. even withou trying you'd bet getting 30-40% referrals.
