This used to be a big problem, but was fixed a while back. For about 6 months they have been treating duped pages like your top level domain, pages like index.php, index.html, index.shtml, www and non-www URLs that are essentially the same page as equals and display the same PR. I have noticed in the past few weeks though that more and more sites are once again showing 2 different Page Ranks for those pages again. Did the do away with that? It seems odd that they would if it was working properly. Maybe it wasn't. Anyone else notice this?

I totally agree with magda . There is no relation between page rank and rankings. You can get page rank very easily but rankings are quite difficult task. get 2 or 3 quality links and get pr but rankings you have to wait!!!!!!!!

Ahh sir i think their is hard competition going on and you must have lost your rankings on those keywords . Start working again and everything will work like past again . I lost my page rank but traffic is increasing day by day .

Consider redirection both the 'domain.com/index.***' and the 'domain.com/' to one url only.. of your choice by using L301 redirections.. it's called URL canalization as mentioned by 'magda' above..

On of the reason regarding the 2 type PR is the internal and external links having both URL instead of unique one. I saw this type of issue then I change all my links to unique URL , then the problem solved

    Thanks Magda for the link.
I will try to fix this after reading that post.

Thanks atulperx. That could be a reason since
a few months ago my site was hacked and I
    had to rebuild everything.

Thanks IEmailer for the suggestion.I may
have to seek the help of my ISP to
fix this since I am not a technical person.

Thanks Rena and myemailid911.I will try
    your ideas also.

I will post an update soon once I resolve
    this issue.

    Cheers!

I checked with my ISP and they said that my htaccess file points
    to the same location adrunivese.com//wp/index.php.
So 301 redirection is not needed.

    However thinks http://adruniverse.com/wp/ and
    and http://adruniverse.com/wp/index.php are different
    and assigns different page ranks.

When I type www.adruniverse.com in the browser it
goes to http://adruniverse.com/wp/index.php (Has no PR).
Also when I type without the www as adruniverse.com
it goes to the same index.php page.

However when I check the "BackWard Links" there is
    no matched links at all.(link:http://adruniverse.com/wp/index.php)

But when I type http://adruniverse.com/wp/ in the browser
Google says 13 linking to http://adruniverse.com/wp/.

What is the problem in this case and how do I fix it?

    Thanks for your help.
    -David
