I am wondering about pagerank. i realize that you can have a high pagerank with out ranking well for the terms that you want, but is it a general rule that if you have a high PR (4-7) and you have a good amount of content that you will also be recieving a fairly significant amount of t raffic from the Sear engines? also, is the pagerank chart that says so many PR6 link will get you to PR7 accurate or not? THanks
I personally wouldn't worry about PR...it only matters with google...some people can't stop until they have reached a 5,6, or 7, but I don't think it helps like it used to...go to the google forum and read, you will find more info there.
PR is a minor factor at best when deciding SERPS, It probably even works as a tie-breaker, And that is real PR, toolbar PR is meaningless, out of date and inaccurate.
The higher Google PR you have the more your site gets spidered by Google - handy obviously if you are constantly adding content to the site.
i think it maybe too extreme to say that PR is not important and not to worry about it. Definitely, CONTENT should always be key. But with a high PR, it facilitates alot of things like potentially traffic and interested parties to submit backlinks.
