No. Beyond what grg said, PageRank is actually determined by your links. I mean, no links might show up when you search for them, and it's possible that the links that you got your PR from during the PR update don't actually link to you anymore, but when the PageRank is calculated for display it is based on the links that are linking to you, and that is it (aside from tiny default amount, that is, that every page has).

Well its possible for a certain time, but after the update your pr will drop. As others said, its impossible to truly have a pr3 without backlinks.

If the toolbar PR and such updated daily then it would always show your real pr. But it would be to hard for google to do that.

I saw Overclock's site and it has enough backlinks to gain some PR. Maybe you just didn't know that it has links pointing to your site.

No that's impossible as having backlinks help your PR and without it being indexed then well nothing really people won't find your site really

PageRank is only updated every so often, and it has been a while since it was. If you didn't have enough backlinks the last time it was exported, then you will have to wait for this export to see the results.

Pagerank is a “vote”, by all the other pages on the Web, about how important a page is. A link to a page counts as a vote of support. No backlinks = no votes = no "support".

I have encountered before, other members of the forums that share his experience of having PR3 without backlinks. So, I guess it's possible.
