Do not see any useful purpose for a site displaying pagerank, visitors
    today, total visitors etc.
Either a site has the information I am looking for or not. Any displayed rank or vistors would not have any effect on staying or leaving.
Only exception is users online in a busy forum or a chat
    Sincerely

Thanks for all the responses. It seems everyone has an opinion on this and after much thought I agree with those that think it's a good idea and those that don't. In the next release I now have the option to display it, or not, as the mood takes me. Perhaps I'll only display it if it's PR5+ and a Monday afternoon lol - just kiddin :)

Thanks again. Now I must go figure out how PR is shared etc but I guess that's another post.

PS Just noticed that this thread has jumped to the review forum! Wasn't looking for a review just asking about display of PR! Any idea why?

Although I am not one to place it on my site, I can see why it might be of use on an "Advertise!" page. By the way, PR Updates is the best site for finding PR and keeping up to date with it ;)

Well, since this PR image is usually a link you are giving them a backlink.
Giving a backlink causes a loss in PR since the other inner site links from this page(like the one there usually is to the home page) will pass less PR value.

Personally i would not point out the PR, but you might have an Alexa badge or one of their graphs on a page that discusses your traffic or advertising

In my new site I'm gonna have a box displaying the number of users online, pageviews, uniques etc so I thought I might aswell add a pagerank and page strength image :D

But why would you really need all of that? (not saying you don't... just curious as to what reasons might exist other than just doing it for the sake of doing it).

Why would anyone want to see this? If anyone would want to know the PR it would be enough to install a special browser plug-in for that.
