:( Ms Cleo told me I would get a PR8 if stayed on the phone line for 20 minutes or more, but it hasn't happened, I want my money and those 23 minutes of my life back.

So whats the verdict on the PR update?
Personally my PR has been 0 for one of my main sites for a while now. and before that it was a 2 and before that a 4.
In the GD it's showing a 4, but during the "PR fart" as I like to call it some DCs showed a PR2.
So, i'm thinking that this is old PR.....
Really don't know what to think though, because some of my BRAND NEW sites have gone to PR4's during the "fart"

To me, that is what is interesting so far - I recall previous PR updates got pushed out everywhere in like 24 hours ... this one seems to be taking a while ...

I was reading here in this thread that the submissions to the directories are not counting in this update!!! Is that true ?

I think so. All my sites are back to the same now (unchanged). I did see a lot of fluctuation earlier today though.

Nopes. Thats not true. I have my site pr depending on the No. of submisson in various directories. This is like 90% of my serps. And rite now my pr has shot up from pr0 to pr4-5, so I dont think directories are not taken into consideration.

I hope thats true, 'cause we've been doing a lot of directory submission for past 3 months for various websites.

I've done very little but directory submissions for one of my sites. Now the update is here and it's gone from pr0 to pr4 (at the last check).

edit: Having said that I just checked and it's dipped back down to 0. I reckon we've got a few days to wait on this one (like last time)

Yes. Going out all over in 24-48 hours is the normal behavior. But the last one never really made it all the way across all d/c's... jagger had 3 parts to it...

This is my theory so far, but it is just that - a theory.
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=655672&postcount=553
And there seems to be some who think that there were too many going up...
Looking at the Google Directory for my site, I was at 14 and went down, I am tending to agree. I don't see why many of the sites in the category went up.

PR is a sliding scale, and it seems skewed.

Perhaps the second half of the last update PLUS the first half of another? Kinda jagger-like. Look at post #566 above, jfontstead, for instance.

I have said before - perhaps they had to release it, imperfect or not, something must have reached a limit or finished a cycle, and could not start a new one without dumping or rolling out.

Exactly the same with one of my new sites PR0 -> PR4 -> PR0 upon checking.

I didn't see the pr4 on all data centers, I did see a swicth in backlinks as well from 0 to 500+ and 0 again. Thing is some of those backlinks would have been from quality, on subject websites with reasonable pr - so I can't belive they all count for nothing. ie some backlinks should be showing up.

I just tried using mcdars: http://www.mcdar.net/GoogleUpdateRecord.htm

I see some old Prs and "hopefully" new Prs. Also different BLs among the datacenters.

When I replied earlier, the results were from seochat.com ... I guess not as comprehensive as mcdars.
