    Hi, Everyone,,,

I just checked my site and got my site indexed about half of my pages,,,
My site is pretty young and Google didn't indexed my page until I got some pagerank(3)....

I just want to know is there any relationship between indexing and pagerank??

If google indexs pages more with pagerank,,,,Isn't that mean PageRank is still taking crucial role in SERP??

I heard alot about PR and PR doesn't take crucial role anymore in SERP
but how about relationship with Crawal frequency and indexing speed??

I just want to hear you guys' opinion on this,,,

    Thanks Always,,

My site was indexed daily from the beginig, even in the first 2 mounts when the PR was 0. Yesterday I got PR4.

How could you get pagerank if google didn't indexed your site? That makes no sense to me. If google didn't crawled your site than it couldn't give it any pagerank. I'm sure you were crawled but maybe didn't noticed it.

this pagerank which you see in google toolbar is more like a toy than real indication of page importance. I think that if your site is updated often then it may be visited by googlebot everyday even if it's low PR.

I dont think its really page rank that gets you indexed more frequently, its links. If you have a lot of links pointing at you, then you'll get indexed more often. With links, follows PR, of course, but I don't think PR alone is enough to get you indexed quicker.

I'm not sure about this. My site just got over 200 hits by gbot in the past 24 hours, and several hundred more within the last week. Yet my pr is still 0. I seems to me like the two are not necessarily related.

Toolbar is only updated about every 3 months right now. Google most likely updates PR, internally, all of the time.

If you don't have at least one link pointing to your site, Google will not place it in their index.

Based on the strength (read: PR) of the links pointing to your site and probably the number of links, Gbot will index more and more of your site (depending on size and link structure).

The visible PR being 0 doesn't necessarily mean that Google's internal (hidden) PR for your site is 0. ;)

That's true. Also, I think links are being regenerated now. The link they found a couple days ago that was actually no longer there is now gone. Unfortunatly that was the only link they had for me, so now my link count is back at 0. However, gbot, and inktomi as well, as both running rampant on my site as I write this. Hopefully things will change here shortly. :D

Getting hit once again this past 24hrs about 200 times. That one link is back, now in all datacenters, but no matter how many times it hits my site it still only indexes the main page and that's it. If I do a search for my anchor text I get over 100 results. At least half of them are from actual links, but still only one link in the count. It's almost enough to make a guy feel a bit paranoid. :D

    Hi all,

I am new to this whole thing and am at that real dangerous state where I know a little about a lot, but not a lot about anything!!

I am having nightmares about google, can you clarify a few points, linked to the psots above.

My site was hit by google bot within 3-4 days of it being launched, it quickly registered about 30 pages, it visits nearly every day. This up-date It finally showed back links as this was showing as 0 before; although google had pages that linked to mine, is this a 3 monthly process like P/R?

Now I have a P/R I expected my keywords for my site to start showing on a search, Nil, not a dickey bird however, msn, hot bot, altavista etc all list me depending on K/W anywhere between 5 and 35.

How do I decided which key words to select, or is this not the place to ask that?

As you can tell I have little knowledge, at the moment! so please bear with me.

    Regards

Hey, you're doing better than me! I'm still at PR0, have over 300 pages only one of which has been indexed after 1000's of hits by the gbot, and althought I can go out and find over 100 links to my site google only reports one, and that one doesn't even exist any more. I'd hoped for better results after a month, but I guess I'm going to have to wait.
