I just wanted to get some fresh thoughts on the spiderability of websites. I have a site www.dmxready.com. If you look at it there is a PR3 on the homepage and every page within the site is ranked 0. This site has an INURL of 4000+. CAn anyone tell me if they can figure out why the inside pages arent getting PR? Is it because of the scripting? Are they viewable by G? Is there anything that could be done to ensure there was a rank? I have run into this many times but I just wanted some up to date opinions on this. Look forward to anyones inputs!
Why do you have the urls in this format "http://www.dmxready.com/dmxready.asp?mid=13&incid=7" ? Couldn't you use "http://www.dmxready.com/faq.asp" instead If you cannot, simply rewrite the urls using an isapi filter like isapi_rewrite. Sites without "?" and variables will get crawled and indexed much faster, and those pages will get toolbar pagerank much faster also.
ASP pages will still get spidered and given PR if the links to it are of importance, however if you can get a rewrite that would help your seo. I just added to my asp gallery with brand new pages and they have already been given "initial temporary" pr 2 even though they are just up for one day.
These are great points guys. Appreciate it. So what we are saying is that we just need to use the rewrite to display the urls with meaningful names.
Well if Page rank means that much to you then you want some decent PR pages linking into your pages, but then again that isnt going to put dollars in your pocket.. If the pages are not being indexed by google then I would be worried, however I would not get too bogged down by page rank, it does not correlate to earning potential from a site (generally).
True --- but when every page in the entire site minus the homepage doesnt have PR (despite being over 4 years old) I worry a bit. Thanks for all the info though. Any other words of advice would be great.
