PageRank a factor in .edu domain trust when receiving links?

Is PageRank a factor that should be considered when receiving a link from a .edu page? Will there be benefits to receiving the link even if the page has no PR?

Yes, overall it is going to help you but also try to get link from top relevant sites that would be big plus IMO.

I don't understand your reply. Are you saying that a PR0 .edu link will have inherent benefits (trust) that a PR0 non .edu link wouldn't have?

How on earth can anyone here tell you whether or not PR is used in the calculation of 'trust'?

We can't even measure trust, let alone identify its ingredients.

Yes, you are right, DP does have knowledgeable people here.

Unfortunately, as no search engine has disclosed how they measure 'trust', and looking at a site/page we have no idea exactly how much trust the search engine has given - any answers from those knowledgeable people will be pure guesswork.

Which is fine if you want guesses. I guess that PR is a very miniscule part of 'trust'. :)

True, hopefully someone here has experience with low PR .edu links. :)
