    Maybe Google is now sending new pattern of page rank.
    If i follow old pattern (which is in our mind now) then it simply mean PR8 means couple of PR8+ few dozens of PR7 + few hundreds of PR6 backlinks.

    Could you post single website which is pointing to your website and was having PR8 or PR7 before this generous page rank update. :)

    Well I am noticing 1 odd thing in my stats. Seems that my rss bridge is my 2nd most used page. I can't seem to see who is pulling my feed though. I may have to check raw logs. Could it be possible my feed is on a big PR site?

    Do a search for "delta pilot strike" on Google. I am #2..but what suprises me is that I am above CNN, Washington Post, and CBS.

    I don't know any PR7 or PR8 sites that link to me...that doesn't mean none exist.

    I don't like all this talk of easily achievable PR's. I hope mine's legit. I worked my a** off trying to promote and obtain links. My backlinks for google is 200, msn 3026 and Yahoo! 935. I currently have PR 05 with most subpages at PR 04. I've had the site since Jan, but believe my PR to be totally legit. How can you find out if it's not?

    Ignore pr, what does it mean? A badge, a status symbol it's nothing. Rankings is what counts :).

    Green fairy dust doesn't = money. Unless you're selling PR.

    Everyone uses PR as a factor for value. So don't say it's nothing.

    To be honest, I don't really know if it is important or not. I do know a lot of people mention it when selling sites and links though. So there's gotta be value to it.

    I never said PR is really important. I just don't believe it's valueless or worth nothing.

    I have 3 subdomains that went from 0 to PR5 in less then 2 months. I don't understand either. All my links are mostly internal.

    I have been hearing that a lot of sites are getting higher PageRanks from Google within this last update, which started on the 4th. PageRanks 6-8 are getting as common and as easy to get as the PageRank 1-3. I believe this may be a glitch in the way Google is calculating website PageRanks, however, if it is not, then no longer will site sales and values be justified for their PageRank. Traffic will be the common variable that all buyers will seek and PageRank information will be pointless.

    Yep true. But it kind of sucks for directories like www.AliveDirectory.com and www.Warpocity.com (mine) because even though we were previously indexed and PRed before the 4-4 update. We are not getting re-updated for the pages we had prs on. Meaning most webmaster don't see that my site and alivedirectory has a lot of value; AliveDirectory ofcourse has a lot more. Meaning Directory business will no be dying off.

    But it is just kind of sick to see that this guy gets a PR8 as a fluke and alivedirectory which was susposed to be a PR8 after a lot of investments is still a pr4.

    jeez..the jealousy in this thread is sickening...

    Who else has a PR8 other than me? I don't see anyone reporting a PR7 or PR8 from this update. Only 1 person in this thread and he refuses to show his domain so I don't count that.

    If there is an adjustment in PR that doesn't make it worthless. It just means there will be a new valuation for it. Things change and we adjust to it.

    I think a lot of you guys will be eating your words in the months to come. It could seriously be a new algorithm where quality counts. Investing in PR links that are unrelated might finally be a penalty (which it should).

    My site has 33k pages CACHED. It's a PR8. It gets new first page results daily. I have NO ADS. All my links are relevant. I don't run COOP or LV. All in all google might finally be rewarding me for actually concentrating on a site instead of creating spam like warpocity. Warpocity is pure junk. It's a dime a dozen website with no material. Why should Warpocity be anything more than a low PR site? Where is it's value?

    I officially declare SEO DEAD! It's worthless. Google will PENALIZE you for insisting that your site has value when in fact it has none. Create a good useful site and you will be rewarded. That's the lesson I have learned.

    Bam! And that's the point. I've got new sites, a few months old, seeing big PR jumps. My old sites... nothing. Some of my new sites, with far fewer backlinks, are outranking my older established sites that have hundreds, and in some cases thousands of backlinks.

    Sumpin ain't kosher...

    Because google created a special addition in their algo
     <?php
    $XYZ = Website
    if ($XYZ = www.democracyforums.com) {
        echo "Pagerank = 8";
    } else {
        echo "Normal Algo Applies";
    }
    ?>

    Code (markup):
    :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Oh my ... Look whose talkin'!
    We are happy for you, that your site is a PR8, and instead you think exactly opposite, instead of being happy about it and joyful about your great achievement, you are bitchin about it, What a Shame! :(

    Wow you are suggesting that Google can know quality without inbound links. How do they do that? Do they manually look at every website now and imput yes or no?

    DemocracySite.com
    Qaulity 1

    But looking to see if you have no ads? Then what is your main purpose of making the site? Educational. Well here in America, United States, Capitalism makes makes cents(LOL). It lowers prices, it innovates and it gives more motivation to make your website better. What will happen if your site takes off, you will be putting ads to help make the site worth your time and to motivating you to make it better to reap the rewards of excess profits. But without advertisements you will not put the extra effort to really make democracy site the best of it's ability. You will let members of the site say and do unethical stuff because again nothing motivates you. Did you skip that day in Econ? LOL, just kidding. Best of luck with your site. BTW how much extra traffic are you getting from google for that PR8?

    Come on man are you listening to yourself. You probably need to just ban yourself and get it over with.

    I just found this thread and my two cents are that it is an interesting read - skipping over some of the personal attacks.

    Good question labrocca - yea, why DID Google give you a PR8 - I'm puzzled too - and I haven't seen a solid technical answer which does suggest some "burp" in the algorithm.

    P.S. And for all of you guys with PR8 sites, here's a plug to consider linking to the V-E for Celiac Charity website to help it in the SEO contest - be glad to add you to the supporters page ... which (riddle me this!), dropped from a PR6 to a PR2 in this last update ... despite having a link from the PR7 parent (and various other sites).
