Pagerank 5 with 2 back links?

I have a website with a pagerank of 5 with 2 back links, no meta tags and no external links. Im having a hard time understanding how this is. Does anyone know how this is as I would like to apply it to other sites!

 

If you look up what PR is, it will become clear.

1. you probably have more than 2 backlinks but/and...
2. even so, it's still possible if those links are on high PR pages themselves

META has nothing to do with it all.

 

One of the links is PR 4 and the other link is my own about us page.

 

There might be other site that were linking into the site. try msn to find out more

 

You probably checked your backlinks on Google. Try to check them on www.alltheweb.com. I think Google only shows backlinks from PR3 + sites.

 

Google will show backlinks from pr 0 pages, it does not matter what the pr is if google finds it then they may show it.

Alltheweb doesn't show as many as google does. So i don't think the PR thing is true.

 

One of my domains has a pr of 4 and its only because the old owners site links to it which is weird. I dont understand it either... But its cool :d

My other site has over 1,000 linkbacks but its only a pr of 2

 

Lots of links do make a difference. But PR depends more on the PR of the pages that link to it, than sheer numbers.

For instance, I have a one-page site (with no real content on it), only a couple months old, and with only one link to it. It's a PR3, because the link is from a PR4 page on another one of my sites.

Well I think Google is surely not showing the exact details to you.. may be you have more backlinks then you see on Google.. thats what G is all about.. you never know what is around..

 

Hehe... of course, the PR really doesn't mean much unless Google is also sending you lots of traffic

Oh, my pr 5 site has gone to pr 0 for no apparent reason (it's not banned, 122 backlinks according to google).

Maybe google goofed and assigned my pr 5 to your site!

 

I have 343 backlinks and PR4 its wat I get

 

1,600 Backlinks and I have a PR4, although I was badly wanting PR5.

People have given the right advice here, check for backlinks on MSN.com, they are much faster.
