    I bought the domain in March this year because it was a PR5, but I believe it's been a PR5 since June 2008 when the domain was owned by the French Embassy - Check archive.org (PhD and PDF fellowship Program Science and Technology Service - Embassy of France in India)

    All your back links from Google seems to be coming from similar template websites, nothing that i saw coming from .fr all that i see is from .in/.us. How do you support your statement? I will expect some links from .fr when France Embassy holded the domain.

    You'll see that the domain was owned by the Indo-French Technical Association based in India. You will also find a summary of the services they offered.

    This page where IFTA [dot] in is linked - http://bombay.ambafrance-in.org/spip.php?article298 is a Pagerank 3
    The site - http://bombay.ambafrance-in.org/ is a Pagerank 6

    Since the site was an Indian-French collaboration based in India, the backlinks were mainly from Indian sites.
