What are prevailing opinions on why certain pages are PageRank 0 and why some say "No Data Available". At shouldn't pages that have a link from other pages get at least a PR of 1 based on how Google works? Let's hear your opinions/observations.
from what i see: 0's are pages that are new but have a decent amount of link juice pointing to them from backlinks. N/A are new ones that have received little if any link juice. There are also some pages that change from a page rank to N/A. They are usually pages that get link spammed in a short amount of time.
Could be. I have noticed too that pages that used to have positive PR values can be dropped to either PAGERANK 0 or "No PageRank information available". Ones that have been demoted to PR 0, I would assume, have backlinks that no longer pass PR, even though everything looks normal.
It depends, PR = N/A means in plain english : PageRank Data Not Available If any URL showing a PR = 0 - Then it's a new URL which started to gather some PR Juice based on the backlinks pointing to it.. But it still have to wait till the internal PR values get exported to Google DC's However, in most cases it's just a new URL and haven't assigned a PR yet.. Or it's banned from the PR calculations by Google for breaking there rules
Pages with "No PageRank information available" are either new pages or, I believe, pages that are supplemental.
An observation I have had recently. I have a site that is structured like this... site.com/ (homepage) site.com/subpage1.html site.com/subpage2.html .... etc And have translated that site into several languages like this... site.com/fr/ (homepage) site.com/fr/subpage1.html site.com/fr/subpage2.html .... etc Each languages homepage (and sub pages) link to the sub pages for that language only, but also link to the homepage of each language. For a while now, the main homepage (site.com) and all its sub pages (site.com/subpage1.html) have had a PR-2 All the languages homepages (site.com/fr/) have also had a PR-2 but there sub pages have mostly been PR-1 (some are PR-2 a couple are PR-0) A few weeks ago I noticed one of the languages homepages had changed from PR-2 to PR-N/A, and so had most of its sub pages, (only one or two did not change and still have a PR-0 or PR-1. I have never really had much traffic to this particular language (Chinese Simplified) and it seemed to take longer to index than the others. But I cannot explain why they went N/A.. I am hoping that it is just a glitch in the tool bar export, and hope that the pages haven't been flagged as supplemental. If the have been, I have no idea why. Well that concludes my observation. But my confusion still remains. Cheers James
0 means indexed by google pagerank..but 0 ranking given no data available means it has not been indexed by google pagerank robot....or if google pagerank server is down
we may test on it. "No Data Available" I think the page has been indexed by Google but haven't be ranked. I've noticed that some fresh pages got very high serps but the page rank were "No Data Avaiable" too...
sites and or pages that are new often have no pr available so its not neccesarily anything sinister I dont think, just not had pr assigned to them yet
Here's another mystery concerning the same phenomena. A website with a PR0. In Google Webmaster Tools the part underneath the crawl stats that says "Your page with the highest PageRank" shows the main page as being the highest rated, even though its 0, like the rest of the pages. How can PR0 be the "highest PR"? I think these new PR0 and Data Not Available pages are just set like this to confuse webmasters. The lack of visible PR doesn't seem to affect the rankings any. It seems like web directory pages can only hold any PR at all if they have external links, and even then there's no guarantees.
The TBPR0 page has the highest page rank. Remember that internal pr is updated on a daily basis and Google only exports the results to the tool bar every 4 months or so. The tool bar page rank is oly a snapshot of your pr that's already a few weeks out of date when it's exported.
I had a blog with PR3 that went to N/A in the last toolbar export. I had removed some links not added spam links. I'm confused why it didn't go to 2, 1 or even 0.
Sorry - I removed some incoming links - a sitewide link from a site with PR 3 pages - but still left 150 or so incoming links (mainly directories) in place.
PR0 is a page rank - the lowest rank while N/A means that the page is new and has not been assigned a PR. PR0 to PR10 --> PR exist starting from 0 to 10 N/A --> No PR exist for these pages because they are new or spammy or whatever.
