Just curious to what you all think is a good ratio for page views vs clicks? From reading here, I see that the majority say that 1 click per hundered impressions is good, is that the general view? Thanks.
I thought that the less views you have the more earnings you will have because less views<clicks but I was wrong. I had 1 ad unit in my website and I added almost 2 more ad units and 1 link unit to my website and the earngins are great now. If your ads placement is very good, don't be worry about the page views. The CTR will be accordingly your page views.
1 per hundred is low. It depends on your websites though. What kind of market are you aiming for? What's your topic?
There are also many variables such as return visitor ratio, ad placement, relevancy of ads for your site, ad inventory for your niche and many others. I would say the only way 1% CPC would be acceptable is if it is placed on a forum site. If you read around the forum you will find plenty of tips on how get your ads clicked more, the legal way
It also depend on % of new visitor and the referal soruce. If vistor found your site from search engine and you are match your content, CTR should be good.
This is what I said in another thread today: There is a huge thread at that very popular webmaster forum about how page impressions can damage earnings. The majority of people over there seem to think that more page impressions = less earnings-per-click. So I'd love to hear other people's views on this theory.
