Page views no longer matter, its the visit length of a user that matters..

I like that idea...someone who takes their time browsing your site, and reads what you have to say is much more likely to come back or convert, than someone who quickly glances through 5 pages, and leaves within a minute or two.

 

Yes this is a great stat to utilize in any analytics program. Rather then seeing all the page views, some of which are by bots and scrapers we can see how long the visitors are staying and what the average time is.

 

this actually makes a lot of sense seeing how data/services are provided on websites are constantly evolving. and i think the longer they are on the site sort of means more quality your site provides.

if i'm not mistaken, google adsense seems to be monitoring this (ie how many seconds til a click). could others agree/disagree with me on this issue?

 

makes sense...web 2.0 sites that utilize Ajax and video sites do no generated a lot of pageviews

 

youtube will win that competition. people are watching 10 min. videos on youtube
