    has anyone tested to see the maximum and the minimum amount of characters to use in your title to be considered google friendly ?

    i have herd that you should not go more than 50 characters, is that correct ?

    Also do you think its good or bad to put your domain name at the end of the title, so as to make your page title more unique compared to other site's?

    for example i have a ink cartridge website, and there are many cartridges i have on my site so i put the name of the cartridge in the tiltle tag and at the end i put - go-cartridges.co.uk. But i was thinking maybe google will see that internaly my page title are too similar. what do you think ? :)

    Also google visits my ink cartridge websites often but for some reason it does not update the title in its index, does anyone know why ?

    40 chars is a good benchmark. Restrict to about 6/7 words

    I have found that 64 chars is recommended by Google (including spaces) but I think 40 chars (inc spaces) is better, its shorter, and looks nicer.

    You can use explode() function in PHP to get word count.

    <?php

    $title = "Your title here";

    $count = count(explode(" ", $title));

    echo "$title contains $count words";

    ?>

    PHP:
    Or simply use strlen() for character count.

    johndoe6 & johndoe623 are you the same person? As it is not allowed on DP to use more than one ID.

    As it has been said under 67 or so is standard. But just optimize it to best complement your page in length.

    The way you put it would be blatent spam, but search for anything in Google and you will see the keyword in 2 different locations on some Title Tags. It makes it hard for honest people knowing that you're not suppose to do that, yet seeing it work for others
