Page Sponsorship = Big $$$?

A friend of mine is, or at least claims to be, a PPC and Internet advertising expert. He is counseling me to offer up about 100 geo-targeted pages of our 9-year old authority site that lands in the top 5 of the SERPs for terms like: <state> auto loan, <state> home loan, <state> student loan, <state> accounting services, <state> accounting jobs, <state> accounting degree, etc.

He claims that if I look for or allow exclusive individual page sponsorship that companies will pay BIG dollars up front to rule each individual state page on an exclusive basis because of the attractiveness of the keywords.

Is he blowing smoke, or is there some truth in what he is saying? Comments from any of you advertising gurus here on Digital Point?

yes, he might be true, but the money will depend on the value a particular keyword has.
And as you said you have <state> keyword system, then you will have to work a lot to find people for who have intrest in a particular state.

I would say it depends of whether your state is California or Colorado...

I'm sure there's big money for what the site offer. The challenge is the marketing and sales. It'll take significant time and even money to get what it's worth.

Sounds like you need to pay him a commission on selling a few page sponsorships to find out if he is blowing smoke or not.

Sounds like the BillBoard page program at linkworth. It pays real well. Anyone can join and get help selling ads, of course, it's not entirely free for good leads. But you can do it yourself and elimiate one middleman in some cases. ;)
