Page resurrection after ban or penalization

Let's say a page is banned or heavily penalized by Google, how does that page come back to the SERPS if the reason for Google not liking it is fixed (such as keyword stuffing or similar).

Does it still get regularly spidered and brought back when the page changes to a more acceptable quality or what?

    Any experiences?

    they usually come back

sometimes they come back even when you don't change anything

Several times I have had sites go pr 0 and lose all their rankings, then come backa few months later like notining happenened

I've seen at least two instances of it. 4000 unqiue a day went down to 1000, after the site lost all of its rankings in Google. Several months later traffic went over the previous to 4,500, as if nothing ever happened.

So every action from Google looks temporary, at least penalization is, maybe a ban isn't...

I had a site which seemed quite heavily penalised come flying back in to the serps once. The annoying this was I did many changes all at once so I couldn't pin point the problem, other than it was on page.

Also you could always try to contact G and let them know things have been fixed. For the most part I cant imagine this would work well but I have heard a few people claim that fixed things for them in forums like this. I figure you might as well try cause it cant hurt, ya know?
