The Page Rank of a web page, i is formulated as PR(i) = (1 - d) + d * [ ∑{ PR(j) / L(j) }] Where, PR(j) is the page rank of pages, which are providing inbound links to page i, L(j) is the total number of outbound links, present on page j (which is often called Out Degree of a page), and d is a damping factor which values between 0 and 1 (avg o.85). Now it's clear that, page rank or quality of a page exclusively depends of number of inbound links, page rank of the linking pages and total number of outbound link of those pages. So, Free directory or paid directory, blog page, forum page or a portal page, nothing is the matter. Matter is how many inbound links you're having and what are the qualities of linking pages.
That PR is dependent on links only is hardly groundbreaking news. That equation was published 12 years ago.
F = m*a => Newton's 2nd law. Remember it? Published some hundred years ago. It's still now as useful as ever. I just tried to provide some inforation, who are new in the field of SEO and SEM. I guess, lot of people know, high quality and numerous backlinks increases a page's PR, but I'm sure enough of them don't know, why/how? I believe, scientific explanation to every activity, makes it more successful. All the terms in the equation is explaining PR clearly. Quality backlinks stand for high PR of backlinking pages. PR of backlinking pages are used in the equation.
nah not usefull. We don't want a formula. We have sites to measure it. And want to know how to increase it.
The formulas are confusing. I find it hard to understand. Do we still need all those equations in page ranking?
Do you think, once those sites stop working, the world SEO experts will be unemployed? You're speaking something beyond convention. You must know the theory, 'your TOOLS' cannot explain everything.
PR is naturally standing at the bottom of the chart when it comes to have web rankings because quality of the links has nothing to do with their PR nowadays.
Bermuda and 3Dprof... you both are correct. I completely agree with you. PR is not a great factor today, for search engine optimization. But please recheck my topic subject. I wanted to inform about the PR equation, I never told it's the most important factor for Search Engine Optimization.
I go for traffic rank, number of back links and quality content!.. This should go together!.. You can generate traffic with quality content and with tons of inbound links..
Thanks for supporting my point of view, techbongo! it should be noted that the more targeted users website has - the more sales can be expected as a result.
Never bother about PR and SERPS. Just write quality content and gain quality backlinks. If you maintain these 2 everything comes 2u. Almost all articles on seo, equations on pr and calculations are predicted by our experts but not given by google.
