Does anybody know why the page ranking of my Blog is 2 but doesn´t appear at Google results after looking for my keywords, while other pages having rank 0 show up at the first places at Google results? Is there any other thing I should do apart from building a lot of backlinks to my Blog?
Page rank has nothing to do with position in the search engine results! EG: PR does not equal SERP Forget page rank and just work on your blog to get it to rank higher in the SERP's.
OK, thanks ioawadawg, this clears up to me some doubts I've got about SEO. But, what does SERP mean? What can I do to rank for it?
Never mind, ioawadawg, just by a little search at google I am reading by now what does SERP mean. Thanks
Hi Jack, The following article on page rank might help in clearing up some of the confusion. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
Other factors that could prevent your page from showing up higher on Google: * Poor keywording * The age of your competitors' websites (they may be older and more established, so have more authority). * Your links aren't of the best quality. Do you have many links from low-ranking sites? * Now that Google Panda's on the scene, I believe they may penalize a site for having too many ads compared to fat, juicy, keyworded content. Any of these as possibility?
PR has nothing to do with the keywords ranking. Just do proper seo for your blog then you will see the changes in ranking.
do you have the basiss on your blog such as xml sitemap creator? So everytime you post a thread it updates and tells google? Once installed go to google webmaster tools and put xml url in sitemap and the posts should get picked up quickly. alsway start your title with keyword and in excerpt too, that way it will appear high in rankings. Our posts are picked up between 10 and 20 minutes after posting.
if you have high page rank website, it's not true you have high traffic. only quality back links help you.... PR is not the only factor when it comes to SERP
This is because pr is only one factor out of 100 over factors that affect the serp, not the only factor
Well PR is just a metric that is used to rank high in Google search results, you can see that having a higher PR doesn't necessarily mean that you rank high as well. Need to work on your content and links.
Thanks for all your advice guys, I applied each of your suggestions to my site, now it is appearing closer to the first results page of Google's, though my PR is the same by now, you're right, PR is not very important to show up in the first SERP's. One of my pages is at place 15 of SERPS by now, thanks!
