I remember seeing somewhere on the net a spreadsheet showing approx how many links in pr? you would need to get a specific pr?

For example you would need so many pr2 links to get a pr1 link?

Cant remember where i saw this though?

you must also know how many external links that site has. If it has PR2, that PR will be distribuited through all the links present on that page. So, if it has 10 links, everyone will receive, for example, 10% or PR2 -> 0.2 ... Just an example.

Thats pretty cool radiofanatic, I did not know that information. Wow, thats really soemthing.

I personally dont look at PR that much, it isnt as big of a factor as people make it, i mean, unles you have PR 5+, its no big deal.

Going from a PR 0 to PR1 is very difficult and may take months...as soon as google knows your site, SEO begins to appear a lot more

But the rule will not change. More high PR back links better.

not sure about that but i heard a algorithm for common links.

It is 20X or (may be 6X) for each upper page rank. (I mean from PR 1 to PR 2 you will need 20 times more backlinks then earlier)

Google only consider Quality backlinks while distribute pr so there is no need to bulk of backlinks

    I don't give pagerank a lot importance.

what the important for me in my view is trafiic and SERP position.

and if you think Pr makes a lot of difference in SERP then I am or you are wrong coz I never look PR for SERP.

My website had PR1 when I bought it and after I took it , it changed again into PR 0 .After that I asked the previous owner if he had bought some links but he said that he never bought any link for the website. And till now also I haven't.

And PR was down graded as I changed the script running in the website from a scratch made silly script to PHPizabi.

you will get your PR automatically if you update the contains of the website regularly and if you get normal ratio of click through google.

I hope my Pr will again be upgraded to PR 1 when next update will occur.

But also note that PR also plays role in SERP till now for becoming stable in my experience.

Just my opinion, correct me if I am wrong

    As I remember,
to get PR1 you should have one PR3 link or four PR2 links
to get PR2 you should have one PR4 link or four PR3 links
to get PR3 you should have one PR5 link or four PR4 links

    etc.

No one knows how many links one need to get a specific PR. Only Google have this information. Also, PR is not completely depended on the number of backlinks, there are other things to consider, like relevancy of backlinks etc
