Page Rank - What numeber is good?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by smeilach, Feb 25, 2005.

I've read about Page Rank, and what it is, but what it doesn't explain in articles is what is good and what is not? Is a Page Rank of "1" good or not? Is the lower the number better, or is it the higher the better?

    Thanks!

Page rank of 10 is the best, 0 the worst.

10 is best, 8 is excellent, 7 and 6 are achievable with lots of work, and 5 and under are candy all day long:)

It's actually work to get to PR 4 since you can attain PR 3 fairly easily (without any external links).

How often does Google update sites PR? I'm stuck at PR2 but I have 800+ backlinks showing in MSN and Yahoo, may of them PR4-6. Google shows 26 BLs, all from forum sigs and stuff.. (pretty much useless)

Google appears to be updating PR for every three backlink updates (roughly speaking) so we are looking at PR updates of between 3 and 5 per year.

I really don't care much about PR though as it is just a maths figure of the numeric value of links, when we all know that it is the textual value of links that matters more.
