    Hello,

Our site went up (or is going up) from a PR3 to a PR4.

From the last month we engaged in purchasing a PR8 link and it has reflected on the live PR since the live pr now shows PR7. Its not only the PR8, we have been doing hard SEO for a year at least.

My question is this, could this hurt our site being a live pr7 but only a pr3 rising to a pr4 (would this raise suspiscion)?

If this live pr holds up would our site become a PR7 in the next update?

where are you measuring the live PR?
And how many pieces of cake should I be paying for an 8 or even a 7?
I don't know the answer to your question though.
Cant wait to find out answer, it's like trying to evade a pack of dogs.

Nobody knows the live PR except google. You can only estimate the toolbar PR and not very accurately.

I totally agree that the above links are only for guessing the "live pr". Many of us has read about live pr here and on other forums and its a hot topic.

I did almost the exact same thing.

However, I do remember a few sites that had a live pr of 4 about 6 months ago and they never got a real pr 4 site so I don't think high live pr guarantees high real pr.

I woke up this morning to find my site with no PR. It could be penalized but I think that it's more likely that there is a problem with the datacenters because I've seen other sites (4 months old like mine) that were not buying PR with the same problems.

I also bought my links cheap two PR 7's twenty dollars I found them via ebay with real pr, not fake PR.

If I underestand correctly this life PR is just a querry to known Google IP's, yes?

There is nothing really strange about it then, for example one Google server as XX backlinks another Google IP found XXX backlinks, so on the IP with XX your rank is 4 on the IP which found XXX backlinks your rank is 7. at the end of this update Google different IP will have agreed on the backlinks to your site and then your PR will be invariable number in all of google network, until next dance!

    Did I make a mistake?
