page rank updated???

my page rank is updated for only inner pages.not for index page.my website only has backlink for index page.how my inner page got page rank 3?

 

There is the main reason that you are building links more for your internal pages as compared to your index or home page. You don't have done right SEO plan. First of all make sure that you are creating more backlinks ( quality backlinks) to your home page as that of other. The other reason is that your home page would not have quality content (or few content) as compared to your inner pages.

I disagree completely. You should be backlinking all of your pages, so that SEs believe all of your pages are important, and thus your website in general is important. After all, if you don't think domain.com/about-us is important enough to backlink, why should SEs think that page is important either?

I'd continue to backlink all of your pages -- including your homepage. The reason your other pages have a higher PR is most likely, like afoley77 suggested, because your homepage has no content, and your other pages are key-phrase rich with quality content. And don't resort to invisible text on your homepage, or tricks like that; the Panda and Penguin updates are way on that.

Its necessary to build backlinks from all pages but you should have a plan that how many backlinks you have to build for your homepage and for inner pages. Building backlinks from all inner pages will never get your site penalized by search engine because it looks that your are promoting all your site pages not only a single page.

I don't suggest doing link building only from the home page or not to other pages. I only suggested that "PaulRigby"
should have to do link building more for index page as compared to other pages so that Google will more consider the relevance of home page..

 

Jason had the best answer. I usually get more links for the pages that I promote, and less for other inner pages, but I still do get links for every single page on the site.

But this case is quite unique, if some of your inner pages have PR3 and homepage has PR0 Try to add more content on the homepage. Good, relevant content. Not just ads/sales letters..
