I don't understand one thing is if a home page has 20 internal links and if other website home page has only 2 links then does they are different in link building and getting page rank. I think home page with 2 links would early get good page rank while home page with 20 links would get much time to get the same page rank that first website obtained. I think different is of the ratio 20/2? Plz clarify my doubt!
number is not the only factor here. quality of link, age of site, content etc all those are valuable factors to consider.
For getting page ran, link from a page with only 2 links will be better. The reason for this is that if you study the published Google PR algorithm, then it shows that the PR/Link juice is divided between the links so lesser the links better the distribution of PR between the links
What matter is the number of external links pointing to your pages and not number of links on your pages.
Hmm..Pagerank cannot be calculated with that simple number theory anyway. Google had changed a lot to PR and many factors involved, such as internal linking flow, domain authority, ratio outbound link and inbound link and so on. To clarify your doubt. It is not necessary that homepage with less outbound links, both internal and external, will have a lower PR or harder to get PR. Please do not forget about internal linking from inner pages linking back to homepage will cause a chance for higher PR anyway.
Well maybe aside from newbies that are trying to ask question first before do their research thing about things they wanted to know, there are some webmasters (or what you call it) just posting random things about SEO, only just to make post and backlink.
Well for one thing Matt Cutts etc says that PR value determines how deep/much of a site google is prepared to crawl (and how often), so it does have some use apart from link sales.
