How long does it take for google to give you a page rank? I have my site now for 6 months and last week I got a page rank, is this the normal amount of time for it, or is it normally going faster?

it depends on how many links you have and when the PR update was, you might miss the update and get non for months, or you might get links before hand and catch the update.

remember that just the tool bar PR you are looking at, Google will be updating the PR of your said every week, but not exporting that data to the tool bars.

Basically it is all depends upon how you can integrate your optimization activities for a website. If your website is 6 months then you have to look out because it is taking a lot of time.

Page rank updation is depends on the mood of google. The average time is 3 months. Last year google updated the page rank twice in 3 months. The page rank is totally depends on the incoming links. So get backlinks from the high prwebsites for good PR and ranking.

No i dont think so . Page rank help you in rankings. Yes its true that only page rank is not only the element to increase the ranking you would have to consider more things besides PR.

It all depends upon when the PR update is made and what is your position at that time. PR is an important factor for search engine rankings. Having a good PR doesnt guarantees good SERP but it is one of the factor that google takes into account while giving SERP to a website.

Thanks for the replays. For my first site I didn't know very much of Internet marketing so I waited a little long with building backlinks. But with my second site now I started immediately and that site is doing much better.

oh dont be fooled or be obsessed to obtain this PR, it is hackable. Just concentrate on creating greating contents and think of ways on how you can make your visitors keep on coming back to your site.
