    Hi,

I've been working quite hard to increase the PR of my site, www.pimpmyguide.com. I've listed it on several different sites, and I've purchased links on a PR7 site, from this very forum. I've also paid for some decent SEO, which has over 10k pages indexed in google. I've been up since the start of August.

To my suprise, the PR didn't change at all? I've getting quite a decent amount of people through google (Alot more than I did a few weeks ago), but still not anywhere near where I feel I should be.

I spoke to my designer, who said I was probably flagged because of the frequent use of 'hack' and 'exploit' (Which are for games). Could this be true? Is there anyway I get prevent it? I can't get rid of those words since that's how people find the site on google in the first place.

Any ideas on what I can do?

SEO has nothing to do with PR. PR is only based on incoming links to your site. You may have purchased a PR7 link, but how many links are on the page? A page can pass 85% of its PR to a page it links to, but it is divided among ALL the links on the page. If there are 30 outgoing links on the page, the amount of PR passing is 1/30th of what it would be with only one link.

Google is only showing 2 backlinks from other sites. It may be the link you purchased isn't passing PR, or it is so diluted that it isn't passing much PR. While google doesn't show all backlinks, it is an indicator when you compare it to others. You simply need to get backlinks from relevant sites. Buying a high PR link from a site that has nothing to do with what you site is about isn't going to help you in the SERPS. The only good a high PR link from a non-relevant site is going to is possibly give you PR which will help you get link exchanges from other sites that have requirements of a certain PR before they will do a link exchange. The first place you could start is by submitting to all the free directories on the list that has been posted many times on DP.

    Good luck.
