I haven't been around much lately, all my bandwidth is tied up FTPing my sites every day. Good to know I've been on the right path all along
Oh my gosh, today I sent him an email trying to explain FTP would have nothing to do with it, and he sent me this email back: "FTP is the same as page updates. CONTENT CHANGE IS A SIMILATION. Google will rank you once you are updated. It makes no difference in the world that I am now at PR5 on site." So he has this idea in his head that because my site is only PR4 on the main page that I am not doing things right. Nevermind that my site is only a few months old. Because his site is PR5 he thinks his FTP thing is working. I pointed out to him that it is because he has several other sites linking to him, but he will have none of it. He will keep taking down his site and FTPing it every day. I guess that this is a hopeless case. Like some of you said, I guess it's less competition.
I think you should give your friend this tip: Take your puter into the back yard and get the hose out and hose the puter, PR will grow very quickly.
Hehe Really, this person is not a "friend" but an acquaintance. I have serious doubt about his mental stability right now.
Okay tonight I am going to put in four yellow duckies into the bath instead of the usual two that will mean that by the law of averages that one yellow duck = one PR increase two yellow ducks = 2 PR increase. My site is PR5 so it means tomorrow I'll be PR7 Darren
Really crazy. I told him that I had run his PR theory by some very knowledgeable people (you guys) and that they said there is no way that FTPing the site can help PR. Since he wouldn't believe me, I figured he might get it then. Instead, he says I shouldn't have shared his "secret PR theory" with others.
At Uni we were given an example of distorted thinking At 7.00 every morning my newspaper arrives on the doorstep. At 7.35 the sun rises. Therefore the rising of the sun is caused by the arrival of the newspaper. Land for sale in Spain : Pictures of Houses
Sorry, but I thought this was news worthy enough to do a write up in my blog. His secret is out...it was only a matter of time.
I got to thinkin last night...if ftp'ing your site up once a day is good; I'm going to do it once every hour ... that has got to be fantastic. I'm putting this idea into high gear this weekend.
I just put my sites in a constant loop. They are always being taken down and put back up. No people can see them because of this, but my PR is approaching 17.
You do realize, don't you, that if this person comes across your blog he will email me and say, "See! I told you that's how it worked!" because he won't get the joke.
LMAO. Send him the link to the blog and tell hiim he was right. What would it take to get him into this forum to discuss his theory on placement in the serps? That would be a riot!
