If you only want to increase your page rank then just get quality backlinks.
Else you might want to consider doing some SEO.

In order to get Higher PR try to build Back links, but all back links won't work in SERP's so try to get back links from your particular niche and also try to build back links to you inner pages also ( Google gives more value to inner page back links) instead of getting back links to home page. try to get back links from trusted domains like .org, .edu, .net and also use proper PR flow structure in order to avoid unnecessary sharing of PR (in order to keep your home page PR).

    I probably shouldn't share this.....but since its the holidays.....enjoy.

I use Scrapebox and two EDU blogs (but you may able to use something like a Blogger blog - something that is already on an authoritative domain that has its own RSS feed) to increase the PR of my money site.

Basically I use Scrapebox to scrape urls....I separate the high PR dofollow links from the others. With the high PR it doesn't really matter how many OBL it has as I will be creating links to my first EDU blog that is at a highly respected university's domain.

I then create Web 2.0 links to the first blog again. So at this point the first blog is receiving high PR links that I have created on scrapped sites, the ones automatically provided by the university and beneficial Web 2.0 links. If you want to write articles to get another mix of urls pointing back to the first blog....it will only help even more.

The next step is I use LINK2RSS to create an RSS feed of all those Web 2.0 links (and articles) I created and I place them as posts on the second blog (I use another EDU blog, but it could be anything that has its own RSS feed - however an EDU will probably work better)...I then proceed to use the remaining links that I originally scraped. Using Scrapebox again, I blast comment links to my second edu blogs RSS feed. It doesn't matter if the links are dofollow, nofollow PR0 or not.....all you want is the search spiders visiting that feed as often as possible....which means they will be indexing those web 2.0 links (and articles) faster.

The final step....with the first blog now receiving very powerful link juice....I simply work a backlink to my real money site.

The endgame is I have provided myself with one really authoritative EDU backlink from a respected university with extremely low OBL. I've been able to get the first EDU blog as high as a PR7 but PR5 is the norm (depends on the work you want to put into it and the quality of the EDU domain....the first domain needs to be quality (think something like a florida.edu or ucla.edu) the second edu can be your rinky dinky Edu's that are Edu's in name only florida.edu.pa (you know the ones no one has ever heard of and the main domain is a PR0).

It is easy to see how beneficial (or profitable if you decide to sell it) receiving basically the sole in niche link from a PR5,6 or even 7 page will be to your money site.

    Hope that helps....

a good method to increase page rank is to build links from other high PR sites to your main site with your keywords in anchor text. Try to find do-follow blogs in your niche where you can post comments. A google search will reveal tons of them
