    There yo have it. It's all over the web that Page Rank has been updated and it certainly has on my website.

    All the rumours were wrong!

    Our SEO forum has gone from NA to Pagerank 2 on this update. Not that it really matters, anyone chasing pagerank these days is doing it wrong- it's not a ranking factor. Only useful for those selling links.

    Absolutely agree, Page Rank is the wrong reason to try to obtain backlinks. However many people became afraid of adding links to their site because of Penguin, plus many more thought that Google stopped Page Rank (and in doing so, stopped trying to gain backlinks, natural or otherwise). At least with this update, it shows people Google still ranks websites using Page Rank (how many websites are linking to their site) as a large factor in their process.
