I own a website that was in dire need of cash. Sitting as a PR 5 we joined Text-Link Ads to bring in the revenue that Adsense simply wasn't doing. It worked, with TLA our revenue spiked and we were able to afford much needed technological infrastructure upgrades to keep the website afloat, and edged very close to making a profit from the TLA ads alone. That was 5 months ago. And now our PR 5 is showing as a PR 0, is it possible that google raped our PR due to the TLA ads? I've heard stories but never thought they would do such a thing. I am a little concerned, but so far it seems our SERPS have either improved or stayed the same.
man thats hard !!!!. you made any majour changes to ur site ?? like Site structure etc. i dont htink it should have that bad effect.
Google wouln'g have done such a thing! Think back over all the recent changes to see if there are any clues there!
guys no major changes lately. im looking at my webmaster area and it shows 3k inbound links, google's search engine only shows 8.... i noticed a sitemap error so i submitted an rss feed as a sitemap until i figure this error out.... but that's it. Other than that we've had more traffic, more in-bound links and are getting a little higher in SERPS but the PR dropped to a 0. it's not just my front page either, it's the whole site. all pages that were PR 2-4 are at 0.
Seems like page rank leakage from all those outbound links? It doesn't take a lot of outbound links to destroy PR. I do a lot of commenting on high PR pages, and even on pages with mere 5 to 10 comments, some fell from PR 6 to PR 4 on the last update. Link selling is against Google's rule, you should be glad that you are keeping your SERP.
"all those outbound links" well we sell 3 link spots, and link to a few sites we think our community will enjoy, and link to a few sites we own, for a total of 8 outbound links... period. EDIT: Google removed our 'site links' surely not a good sign.
TLA already open war with Google Tos,it is your risk to lost your rank since you joint with them more over that what TLA do to buy your rank and down it deep to Null.TLA buy you to slap from Google
It is surely google raping your pr for TLA, i had my own experience with other text link network, i lost page rank for at least 100 websites just buy adding their links, also traffic went down, some of them was banned, i think were is no way for you to fix this.
thanks for the feedback. based on what you have told me I will be filing a complaint with the FTC and explore an anti-trust suit against google since the site they are 'slapping' is a direct competitor of thiers. of course i will also remove the TLA links.
